Project Overview

Past Experience & Context

Southern California Edison (SCE)'s Targeted Undergrounding Program (TUG) is a $900 million initiative to relocate overhead powerlines underground in high-fire-risk areas across SCE’s service territory. The program is acritical component of SCE’s wildfire mitigation strategy, reducing ignition risk and enhancing system reliability for communities in fire-prone regions. Logic provides embedded scheduling and project management services for specific circuits within the program through Hill International.

Challenge

Large-scale undergrounding programs require precise scheduling coordination across multiple project corridors, each with unique geographic, permitting, and construction sequencing considerations. Managing interdependencies between circuits, tracking progress against aggressive timelines, and ensuring that scheduling data accurately reflects field conditions are essential to keeping the program on track. The scale of theinitiative demands disciplined project management to coordinate across engineering, construction, and stakeholder teams.

Solution & Service Offering

Logic provides dedicated scheduling and project management support for designated circuits within the TUG program. Our team develops and maintains project schedules, tracks progress and milestones, coordinates with engineering and construction teams, and provides the reporting and visibility needed to support informed decision-making at the program level. Working through Hill International, Logic’s embedded approach ensures continuity and direct familiarity with the client environment and project-specific requirements.

Results

Logic’s scheduling and project management support provides SCE with reliable visibility into circuit-level progress andprogram-wide performance. Embedded team members maintain direct coordination with field operations, ensuring that schedules reflect real conditions and that potential issues are identified and escalated proactively. The engagement demonstrates Logic’s ability to deliver specialized project controls support within large, multi-partner utility infrastructure programs.
